What is cryotherapy?
Cryotherapy literally means, “cold cure.” For centuries the healing benefits of ice have been explored. From parents using it to soothe a child’s bumped head to athletes entering ice baths to remove pain and speed the healing process, cold therapy is an age-old practice. With the rapid advances in technology, we now have the ability to apply the benefits of cold therapy in more powerful and thorough ways.
“Whole Body Cryotherapy (WBC) is exposure to subzero temperatures. Extreme cold stimulates skin sensors, activating a Central Nervous System (CNS) response. This causes the release of endorphins while the enhanced circulation activity decreases inflammation by clearing toxins and metabolic waste with a supply of oxygen and nutrient enriched blood to stimulate cellular regeneration.”
The key to WBC (Whole Body Cryotherapy) is that the cold completely wraps the entire body. This means that gases such as nitrogen, which is harmful if breathed in its pure form, cannot be the source of the cold air. An electric system allows the participant to fully experience the benefits of cryotherapy, from head-to-toe. In addition, electric systems are safer for the environment, not adding to nutrient pollution.
Another great thing about Intense 360 Cryo is that our electric system, one of less than twenty units in the US, allows for two people to participate in a cryotherapy session at the same time! This is not only great for “Team Rates” (ask us about those) but makes cryotherapy a more accessible option for the cost-conscious. Also, one of our instructors can literally participate with you during your session if you want.
